The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program(OINP) has given 807 invitations to immigrate to Canada, mostly to skilled trades candidates.

In the New Canada Immigration Draws, Ontario Primarily Targets Candidates in Skilled Trades.

On February 10, the invitations were distributed via three draws.

  1. 466 invitations were given out following a draw through the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream to applicants who received between 260 and 489 CRS points.

The following professions were the focus of the invitations:

  • NOC 72010 – Contractors and supervisors, machining, metal forming, shaping and erecting trades and related occupations
  • NOC 72011 – Contractors and supervisors, electrical trades and telecommunications occupations
  • NOC 72012 – Contractors and supervisors, pipefitting trades
  • NOC 72013 – Contractors and supervisors, carpentry trades
  • NOC 72014 – Contractors and supervisors, other construction trades, installers, repairers and servicers

2. Candidates who received scores of 30 or higher on Ontario's Expression of Interest system received an additional 304 invites through the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream.

  • NOC 22222 – Information systems testing technicians

3. One more invitation was given through the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream to a candidate for the Economic Mobility Pathway, Canada's skilled worker stream for refugees, in a separate draw.
